Operation BBQ Relief to travel to Dayton, Ohio

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Cleanup continues in Dayton, Ohio after Monday’s powerful tornadoes and Fort Wayne’s Lucille’s Barbeque is sending a crew to help.

The restaurant will bring their bbq to feed the victims and recovery workers. Originally the team from Lucille’s thought about going to Celina but realized they could be most useful in Dayton.

“They were in contact down in Dayton. They were also in contact with Celina. People in Celina are actually taking, sounds like they’re taking care of themselves. Which is awesome, that’s what we, that’s what you want. So there wasn’t a huge need for us there. So then we got contact, they said they could use help, so we went,” Chris Wilson, Jr., General Manager of Lucille’s BBQ said.

The members of Operation BBQ Relief have also traveled to the Gulf Coast in the wake of powerful hurricanes.
