Girl Scout donates cookies to the homeless

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — A Girl Scout delivered some sweetness to people served at The Rescue Mission Wednesday morning.

10-year-old Natalia Kleinrichert has a passion for helping the homeless. Not only did she raise money to purchase the cookies, every birthday and Christmas she asks friends and family to bring supplies for the less fortunate.

On Wednesday, Natalia packed up the items and donated them to The Rescue Mission. Her mother is beyond proud.

“It is neat because it was her idea and it is something in her heart. so she does it honestly because it is something she wants to do, not because it is something she is told she has to,” Amy Kleinrichert said. “Looking long term where this will lead her, and since she has been doing this on her own since she was three and we know it’s her, it is her choice we know that God is leading her so.”

Natalia’s mother says she keeps a bag of hats, gloves, and socks in the car that she hands out to the homeless.
