FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – A chase involving two vehicles and an exchange of gunfire ended with the arrest of three people — two of them inside the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo — on Friday afternoon.

Fort Wayne police said detectives in the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, along with patrol officers, responded after being notified of a situation in the area of Wells Street and Fernhill Avenue.

A spokeswoman said two cars were involved in some sort of chase, with shots fired between the vehicles.

One car ran into a telephone pole in the 3400 block of Wells Street. Two people then ran into the zoo.
