Public Hearing set for proposed Indiana Michigan Power rate increase

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Indiana Michigan power customers can share their thoughts about the utility’s pending rate request

The utility company is asking for a rate increase of nearly 11.75 percent to update their energy grid and add more smart meters which they say will empower customers over their energy usage.

The increase would be phased in over three periods and would raise average bills about $21.11 a month.

A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Walb Union Ballroom on PFW’s campus.
