Fire department partnering with Fort Wayne UNITED for smoke detector blitz

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The Fort Wayne Fire Department is working to keep people in the Oxford community safe.

Representatives from the City of Fort Wayne say working smoke detectors are the first line of defense in the event of a home fire.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department is partnering with the Ten Point Coalition to distribute and install free smoke detectors in the Oxford neighborhood.

The distribution event is happening Wednesday evening. People looking to get a free smoke detector and installation can fill out an application on the Fort Wayne Fire Department website.
