Tranquill preps for final season with Irish

Carroll alum Drue Tranquill has begun preseason work for his final football campaign at Notre Dame.

The fifth year senior will be playing his third different position and is eager to get it going, this time as an inside linebacker.

Tranquill has gotten through two serious injuries in his time at Notre Dame and each time come back strong.

The now two time Irish captain enters the new season with two changes in his life.  He already has his Notre Dame engineering degree, and he got married July 15th.

What is a prime goal this year for Drue?  Helping the Irish win their first national championship since 1988.
