FORT WANYE, Ind. (WPTA 21) — The 2018 Summit Athletic Conference Holiday Tournament began Wednesday with all games being played at Wayne High School in Fort Wayne.
Here are scores from day one:
The Snider girls Advanced over North Side 57 to 35. They move on the second round where they’ll take on top-ranked Homestead Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
9th seeded Bishop Luers faced 8th seeded Concordia in the boys’ bracket. The Cadets controlled the game most of the way and won 58 to 46. They’ll play Snider on Thursday. That game is at 12:30 p.m.
The Wayne girls played as the away team in their home gym as they took on Northrop. Northrop won big 65-20. Northrop advanced to play Southside on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The Wayne boys had better success than the girls. They played North Side and it was one for the highlight reels.
The Generals won 76 to 45. They play Carroll at 5:45 on Thursday.
The Carroll girls took on the Bishop Dwenger Saints. The winner gets to take on the winner of Homestead and Snider’s second round matchup. The Chargers came out on top 60-54.
South Side and Northrop played a close game through 3 quarters, but then Northrop ran away with it in the 4th. The Bruins beat the Archers 60 to 49. Northrop will face the winner of Snider and Concordia.
