USF women fall, men end 3 game slide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -, NAIA No. 9 Taylor University opened an early double digit lead bested No. 22 Saint Francis 74-58 in women’s college basketball on Saturday.

The Lady Cougars’ five-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Crossroads League co-leading Trojans, who won their 11th consecutive game.

Savannah Buck registered a double double with 12 points and 10 assists. Kara Gerka led USF scoring with 13 points.

Kendall Bradbury led TU with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

Austin Compton scored 20 points in the 84-75 Saint Francis men’s win over Taylor that halted a three-game Cougar losing streak.

Hunter Hollowell added 15 points and Chandler White 13 for USF.
