SIOUX CITY, Iowa (WPTA21) — It took a second half come-back, but the Indiana Tech women are moving on.
The Warriors defeated WVU Tech 73-63 on Wednesday, in the first round of the national tournament. Heritage graduate Kendall Knapke led the Warriors with 25 points and nine rebounds.
Earlier in the day, Saint Francis saw its tournament run come to an abrupt end, with a 70-61 loss to Eastern Oregon.
Kara Gerka led her team with a season-high 26 points. Eastern Oregon and Indiana Tech will play in the second round on Friday at 9:30am.
In the men’s tournament, Indiana Tech fell to Spring Arbor 85-50. Homestead’s Brandon Durnell starred for the Cougars, posting a game-high 19 points.
