USF slips past Indiana Wesleyan

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – Ninth ranked Saint Francis snuffed out a potential game winning two point conversion try in the final minute by Indiana Wesleyan to escape with a 31-30 win over the visiting Wildcats Saturday.

Martell Williams ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns to lead a USF rally from an early 14-0 deficit.

P.J.Dean added a touchdown run and Heath Simmons threw for 172 yards and a score subbing for injured starting quarterback Matt Crable

Indiana Wesleyan scored with 39 seconds left to pull within one point, ands opted to go for two points and the upset win.

But the Cougars’ Jalen Moss knocked away the conversion pass and saved the day.

USF’s final home game of the regular season is this coming Saturday against 21st ranked Siena Heights.
