Dess scored the final three goals of the Memorial Cup championship, leading the Chargers to a 4-2 win on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first, Carroll took the lead in the second on a goal from Alex Duffus. Homestead with answer on a score from Zach Juarez, and the 1-1 tie held into the intermission.
Homestead took its first lead early in the third, with Keaton Coulter scoring for the Spartans. Then Dess went on his run to secure the trophy for Carroll.
“We just kept driving,” Dess said. “I played my game, my teammates played their game. We kept our heads up, we never got down, and we just powered back and won this from behind.”
