FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — If everything goes according to plan, the Bishop Dwenger football team will be playing on a renovated Shields Field on August 30th.

Work has already begun on the new-look stadium, a $2.5 million dollar project. This upcoming season, the field will be able to seat about 3,200 fans, although athletics director John Bennett said they could add more bleachers in the future.

The school will begin construction on the new building at the field in mid-April, and hopes to install the bleachers and lights by the end of June.

If the project is delayed, Saints football would play its first home game(s) at Zollner Stadium.
