GARRETT, Ind. (WPTA21) – Garrett football players on Saturday staged what has become an annual team event, a car wash at the school.

Players got out the hoses, towels, sponges and other cleaning materials, and were busy, washing 154 cars before noon.

The event builds team chemistry and community spirit, but also raised money to cover expenses in the football program not covered by the school budget.

Head coach and athletic director Chris Depew said $770 was raised in the event for the football program.
