ALBION, Ind. (WPTA 21) — Central Noble basketball star Meleah Leatherman has signed her letter of intent to continue her playing career at the University of Saint Francis.
Leatherman is Central Noble’s all-time leader in rebounds and blocks, and sits at second in all-time scoring midway through her senior season.
She says she passed on offers from bigger schools because the was enticed by the quality of USF’s basketball program and by their nursing education program.
“Not all schools have nursing and that was something I wanted to pursue, so I decided kind of to lean toward a smaller school and focusing more on my academics. I mean, I’ll still focus on basketball, but I wanted to go to a good school with a good program,” said Leatherman.
Leatherman will continue to lead the 11-0 Central Noble Cougars. The team is ranked 1st in Class 2-A.
