NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WPTA21) – Former Harding, Northwestern, and NFL star Trai Essex brought his third Trai Essex New Haven Football Camp back for a third year on Sunday.

It is being held this year at the New Haven Community Center field, due to ongoing construction at New Haven High School.

The free kids camp, which runs through Monday night, is designed to teach area kids the fundamentals of football, and let them test them out in competition on the second night of the camp.

Essex is assisted by New Haven football coach Jimmy Linn and his staff and players.

Essex, who now lives in Indianapolis, will continue to work as an ESPN college football game analyst this season and also series as the dress official for the Colts, which means he makes sure their uniforms are within the rules.
