Komets rack up 5th straight win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) –  Chase Stewart’s overtime goal handed the Komets their fifth straight win, 3-2 over the Toledo Walleye Friday night.

Toledo took an early 2-0 lead and Komet fans had to wait until late in the second period when J.C. Campagna scored the first Fort Wayne goal to fling hundreds of stuffed animal toys onto the ice in the Komets’ annual Teddy Bear Toss.  The toys are then repurposed and sent out to needy kids for Christmas

Encouraged by that, the K’s would tie the game early in the third on a goal by Marco Roy, and then 4:01 into overtime, Stewart netted a wrist shot past Kayden Fulcher for the game winner.

The Komets play at Cincinnati Saturday night.
