TinCaps fall in second game of new season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The TinCaps suffered their first defeat of the new campaign on Friday night, falling 7-3 to Lansing at Parkview Field.

Xavier Edwards had a solid day at the plate for Fort Wayne, going 2-5 with two RBI and a run scored.

Joey Murray (1-0) started for the visitors, picking up the win after five innings of work. He allowed two runs on four hits, with five strikeouts and two walks.

Efrain Contreras got the start for the TinCaps, and had a no-decision. He went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.

The TinCaps and Lugnuts will both go to Lansing now for two more games on Saturday and Sunday.
