Kamrass nets hat trick in regular season finale, Schaafsma named team MVP

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Rookie Jake Kamrass wrapped up his first pro season in epic fashion, scoring three goals for the Komets in a 5-2 win over Wheeling.

The game did not have an impact on the Komets playoff position. Fort Wayne will open the postseason on Friday night against division foe Toledo.

After Sunday’s game, the Komets held an on-ice celebration to recognize the End of Season Award winners.

Jamie Schaafsma was voted Komets MVP by his teammates. All other awards were selected in a media vote.
