River Bandits shutout TinCaps to start weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The TinCaps offense never got things clicking in Friday night, falling 2-0 in the series opener against the Quad Cities River Bandits.

Joey Cantillo took the mound for the TinCaps, and had his best start of the season. Cantillo went five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, with eight strikeouts.

Tucupita Marcano had another multi-hit game, going 2 for 4 with a double.

The River Bandits got all of their offense in the sixth inning, when Scott Shreiber hit a two-run homer off of ‘Caps reliever Dan Dallas.

The series continues at Parkview Field with a 7:05pm game on Saturday night.
