MIDLAND, Mich. (WPTA21) – For the second day in a row, the TinCaps lost to the Great Lakes Loons 2-1 on Sunday.

Lost in the defeat was a great mound performance by 19 year old Efrain Contreras, who threw five hitless shutout innings and fanned eight batters, but left with the game scoreless.

Jose Martinez was terrific as well for Great Lakes with six innings of three hit shutout ball.

The Loons’ Luke Heyer ended the scoreless deadlock in the seventh with a solo home run.

Each side scored an unearned run later, Great Lakes in the eighth and Fort Wayne in the ninth.
