FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Thursday marked a special night in the history of the TinCaps, but not because of the final score.

Parkview Field saw its largest crowd ever, as 9,508 fans stopped by for the Fourth of July game. The TinCaps could not treat that record crowd to a victory though, falling 4-1 to Lake County.

Sam Keating (L, 3-5) took the loss, despite a solid effort on the mound. Keating allowed three unearned runs, allowing four hits and a walk, while tossing four strikeouts.

Blake Hunt went 2-3 with a walk, accounting for half of his team’s hits.

The TinCaps and Captains wrap up their series Friday night with a 7:05pm first pitch.
