FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The TinCaps will eventually lose a game in August. Probably.

Fort Wayne made it five-straight wins to start the month, with a 9-3 victory over West Michigan on Monday night.

Ryan Weathers delivered another quality start, but ended up with a no-decision. Weathers allowed three runs on five hits over six innings, with four strikeouts and no walks.

Jawuan Harris gave the TinCaps a quick lead with a solo homer in the bottom of the first. Lee Solomon made it 3-0 with a two-run double in the second.

West Michigan put together a little rally in the sixth, scoring three runs to tie it up 3-3.

The TinCaps responded with three-run frames in the seventh and eighth to put the game out of reach.

Fort Wayne will go for a four-game sweep, with a 12:05pm game against West Michigan on Tuesday.
