FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — CJ Abrams arrived in Fort Wayne, and that’s about the only positive thing that happened to the TinCaps on Tuesday.

The TinCaps had a rough performance all-around, losing 8-0 to the Whitecaps. The defeat snaps a five-game winning streak for Fort Wayne.

Abrams, the Padres first round pick in the 2019 draft, had a quiet ‘Caps debut, going 0 for 4 as the designated hitter.

Starting pitcher Moises Lugo (L, 0-1) ran into trouble immediately, allowing five runs in just two innings of work, including home runs to Daniel Reyes and Zach Malis.

A downtown downpour after the second inning caused about an hour long rain delay at Parkview Field.

The TinCaps will hope for better weather, and a better performance n Wednesday night, when they host Dayton in game one of a three-game series in Fort Wayne.
