Man held in shooting death of 18-year-old Marion man

MARION, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A fatal shooting Friday night left an 18-year-old Marion man dead, and police made a quick arrest.

Police responded to a call about shots fired before 10:30 p.m., in a parking lot in the 300 block of W. 30th street.

Officers arrived to find Enrique Alcorta lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Medics tried to save him, but he ultimately died from his wounds at the hospital.

While on the scene, investigators learned of a possible suspect.

That male was later interviewed by detectives.

On Saturday, detectives arrested 35-year-old Jomar Worthy on a preliminary count of murder.

Worthy is being held in the Grant County Jail without bond and is expected to appear in court next week.
