Freezing rain is expected to continue during the morning Tuesday as air temperatures remain above freezing and the ground remains at or below freezing. Warmer air is expected by mid morning which should allow for a gradual easing of ice accumulations, but icy roads are still likely.
During the afternoon and evening colder air will move in which should allow a transition to all snow overnight. Winds are expected to pick up during this time and gusts stronger than 40 miles per hour will be possible overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
Wednesday should be better but still windy with mostly cloudy skies and the potential for a few lake effect snow showers.
A generally cool week is expected but the next chance of rain is within a few days… we’ll have that at 12 and 5 PM
