Video Editor/Production Asst – WPTA

ABC21 and Fort Wayne’s NBC, the Quincy Media channels in Fort Wayne, Ind., are seeking a video editor/production assistant. This is a part-time position that will average 20 hours per week.

Video Editors/Production Assistants work with the newscast producers and other newsroom personnel to select and edit video for broadcast in our newscasts. They will, as needed, help gather content in the field and will contribute to each channel’s digital and social media pages. Responsibilities include non-linear editing of news stories, operation of the newsroom computer system and posting of content to websites and Facebook

Requirements

High school diploma required, B.S. or B.A. in Television Production or related field or be pursuing such a degree is preferred.

Experience with non-linear editing equipment is preferred.

This is an entry-level, part-time position for someone who wants to get into the broadcasting business and seeks advancement opportunities. We seek individuals who are dependable, energetic, organized, inquisitive and work well with others.

Work shift could be morning or evenings, weekends and holidays.
